Jena Griswold has been standing up to Trump since day one. She held Tina Peters accountable, urged the U.S. Supreme Court to bar Trump from the presidency, and told Trump’s DOJ to take a hike when they requested Coloradans’ sensitive voter information. The process involves three consecutive meetings, with participation in each meeting deciding the delegates to the next meeting:<ol><li>Precinct Caucus: March 3-7: These are neighborhood (or virtual) meetings organized by your county Democratic Party. At this meeting, participants elect delegates to county assembly - many counties have an “open” process, with no cap on the delegates to County Assembly!</li><li>County Assembly: March 3-14: These meetings are held in your county or virtually, depending on your county’s format. Many counties hold this meeting back to back right after the Caucus! At this meeting, participants elect delegates to State Assembly.&nbsp;</li><li>State Assembly: Saturday, March 28 in Pueblo. This is where the final vote takes place to determine the Democratic Party’s candidates for the June 2026 Primary! A candidate must get at least 30% of the delegates to qualify. <h2>Improving Voter Access &amp; Protecting our Elections</h2><h3>As Secretary of State, Jena has improved our elections and protected our democracy. </h3>In response to widespread threats to election security and election workers, Jena spearheaded legislation to keep Colorado elections safe. She led efforts to criminalize threats to election workers, made it illegal to bring guns near voting centers, and made it a felony to compromise voting equipment.&nbsp; Jena has always believed elections should be both accessible and secure. That’s why she increased the number of secure drop boxes, expanded in-person voting, guaranteed voting access on college campuses and tribal lands, and implemented Automatic Voter Registration. Jena protected the right to vote for all voters, Republican, Democrat, and Unaffiliated, alike.

<h2>Leading the Fight Against Donald Trump and MAGA Extremists</h2><h3>Jena has been a national leader in defending democracy against Donald Trump and MAGA extremists. </h3>When the Colorado Supreme Court determined that Trump had engaged in insurrection, Jena followed the Constitution and argued Trump should be removed from the ballot despite receiving death threats from extremists.
